The Storekeeper at Portsmouth. When the Melpomenes demand for slops arrived in February, flannel drawers were in stock, but none were asked for. There is no precedent for delivering slops for ships at sea to Officers of other ships, who will transfer them. The Purser of the Ariadne was advised he should not do so without a special order for that purpose, as he could not be sure that the drawers would reach the Melpomene.
