Description (What the record is about)
-
Philip Stephens. Vice Admiral Buckle, Commander-in-Chief of ships in the Downes, has informed us of the arrival of the George and Peggy cutters, whose Masters have directions to put themselves under his orders, but they have no ammunition on board. We are to supply the names of the Masters of the cutters employed in the Downes in order to give directions to Vice Admiral Buckle. We wrote to the Board of Ordnance in April to supply those cutters with ammunition and we sent the names of the Masters now in the Downes, yesterday. The remaining names will be sent when received from Mr. Benjamin, Naval Officer at Deal.
