Description

Philip Stephens. To send an additional number of Sailmakers to Portsmouth from the eastern yards would retard the service as they are fully employed at every yard and more could be if procured. A considerable number of sails for large ships have been ordered from Chatham to Portsmouth, which are now shipping in the Naval Supply transport and many are in hand by River contractors to go directly from Deptford.
