Description (What the record is about)
-
Philip Stephens. Have agreed with Mr. May for the Charming Molly cutter now in Dover Pier and with Mr. Cullen for one on the stocks at Folkestone, called the Active, which will be launched in 10-12 days time. They have agreed to deliver at Woolwich but as they cannot hire men for the trip, they have agreed to pay the expense. Ask for orders to Captain Bray to provide men accordingly. We will write to Mr. Benjamin to arrange a meeting with the owners of the New Cruizer cutter, now at Dover to treat with us. Several small cutters have been tendered for hire by the month and ask if we should hire any or how many.
