Description (What the record is about)
-
Philip Stephens. Messrs. Randall, Gray and Brent inform us that Benjamin Hinds, one of their Shipwrights, who has been long protected and constantly employed by them as a Quarterman in building HM's ships, was pressed on Tuesday night and they suppose sent to the Nore. As he is their best man, his loss will be detrimental to them and very probably the cause of many others leaving that work and ask for immediate consideration. They are under contract for building the ships Jupiter, Fortitude, one of 44-guns and 1 of 20-guns, and consider the man most necessary in the yard and ask for his release.
