Description
Content
Folio 49. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Charles Hart, Secretary to the Liverpool Select Vestry. Acknowledge receipt of your letter of 26 February 1851 in which you give the principal objection of the Industrial School Committee to the use of bedsteads recommended by the Board, as the liability of the drawers underneath to become offensive when used for children who wet the bed. The Board believe that whilst the drawers are liable to become offensive if neglected, they can be kept clean and so can be kept in a better condition than without that arrangement. Paper Number: 10389/1851. Poor Law Union Number 220. Counties: Lancashire.
