Folio 295. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to W and E Willoby [William Willoby and Edward Willoby], Clerks to the Guardians of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Poor Law Union, acknowledging their letter of 8 January 1840 concerning the misconduct of Daniel Morrison, Master of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Workhouse, and encloses a copy of his letter of the same date It asks for the board's observations on Morrison's letter and says on receipt of their opinion the Commissioners will give their final decision. They also commend the vigilance of the auditor and firmness of the guardians. Paper Number: 263/A/1840. Town and County of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland and North Durham [detached].
