Grounds for clemency: previous good character, post has been held with credit by his family for many years, his father lost his life in the execution of his duties, his wife has died leaving his young child destitute. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Gaoler's report: character not known, letter carrier at Wigan married 1 child. Annotated: nil. AV 11
