1 individual petition (Anne O'Halloran, the prisoner's wife) on behalf of John O'Halloran convicted before Sergeant Torrins at Limerick on 27 March 1827 for breaching the Insurrection Act. Grounds for clemency: no other person from the City of Limerick was transported. Prisoner was harshly treated. Good conduct in New South Wales. Employed by the Government there. Wife has struggled to bring up family and look after farm alone. Asks for free passage home. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Annotated: 'is it usual under such circumstances to grant a free passage?' Free pardon and free passage granted. MM8
