Description

1 individual petition (Elizabeth Oliver, the prisoner's wife) on behalf of Charles Oliver convicted at the Old Bailey in April 1827 of larceny. Grounds for Clemency: has wife and one child and is expecting a second child. First offence. Acted out of necessity. Asks to remain on the hulks and not to be sent out of the country. Gaoler's Report: recommended by the court to be sent out of the country. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Annotated: nil. MM9
