5 individual petitions (two from the prisoner; John Davis; two from Daniel Le Roy) and 1 collective petition (24 inhabitants of Bethnal Green) on behalf of Henry Le Roy convicted at the Old Bailey in July 1824 of stealing in a dwelling house belonging to John Davis, victualler of Turk Street, Bethnal Green. Grounds for clemency: will be a respectable member of society in the future if granted clemency. First offence. Previous good character. Aged and broken- hearted parent who depends on prisoner for support. Initial sentence: death. Annotated: considered at Report in Council 14 August 1824. Death commuted to transportation for life.
