1 individual petition (the prisoner) and 2 collective petitions (9 inhabitants of London and 5 prosecutors and solicitors) on behalf of Edward Cook convicted at the Old Bailey in July 1824 of theft of an eight day clock, the property of Mr Sadgrove upholster of Moorfields. Grounds for clemency: previous good character. Had worked in solicitors' offices up until this offence was committed. Respectable family. Initial sentence: death. Annotated: 'considered at Report in Council 14 August 1824.'MK13
