1 collective petition (the prisoners) on behalf of Thomas Bassett convicted at Norfolk Assizes [date unspecified] of entering a warren and killing conies and William Dyball convicted at Norfolk Quarter Sessions [date unspecified] of larceny. Grounds for clemency: the petition is endorsed with certificates of good conduct from the chaplain, prison governor and visiting magistrates. Prisoners ask for sentences to be mitigated. Letter from Johnson, Governor of Swaffham Prison, asking for clarification about the remission. Initial Sentence: 18 months imprisonment (Bassett) and 2 years' imprisonment (Dyball).
