1 individual petition (prisoner, endorsed with a certificate as to his good conduct) on behalf of Richard Walrond convicted at the Old Bailey in July 1824 of theft of a pocket handkerchief. Grounds for clemency: penitent. 16 years of age. In experienced and got into bad company. Honest and industrious parents. Was out of employment but his former employer Mr Baldwin, printer, is prepared to take him back. Prosecutor recommends him to mercy. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Annotated: 'Nil.' MK5
