Description

1 individual petition (W Norton) on behalf of the prisoners John Marsden and William Cutts convicted at Derby of robbery. Grounds for clemency: if there had been time, the prisoners could have sent a petition signed by may respectable inhabitants as to mother. If mercy is extended to them they would in future become good members of society. Initial sentence: death. Annotated: 'reprieved by the judge.' MH48
