Description

1 individual petition (prisoner) on behalf of William Reading convicted at the Old Bailey October Sessions 1829 of stealing 144 brass caps value 6s property of William Black, umbrella maker. Grounds for clemency: never committed offence before, has respectable parents. Initial sentence: 7 years' transportation. Gaoler's report: not known here. Annotated: ordered to hulks, nil. KO49
