- Folio 287. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to W E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union. In reply to a letter of 12 June reporting cases of able bodied paupers granted outdoor relief. Stating, guardians are referred to the letter of 12 June, and as the letter did not reach before the relief was granted in the present situation; the relief will be sanctioned. Further stating that the determination expressed in the former letter must be adhered to; that relief is not to be sanctioned in future specifically to able bodied paupers out of the workhouse who are not set to work under the outdoor labour test of the 28 My 1847. Paper Number: 24220/1855. Poor Law Union Number 337. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
