Folio 213. Letter from Richard Michell Hodge, Clerk to the Guardians of the Truro Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission in reply to the Commission's letter of 3 February 1844 relating to the annual return of guardians' paid officers forwarded to the Commission on 31 May 1843, advising the Commission that the then medical officers' salaries, districts and other details are as stated, the appointments being annual to expire on 25 March 1844. A further medical officer's form is requested as only eight forms for nine officers were provided. Annotated: to send an additional form and to state that two of the districts exceed the prescribed area and therefore a special minute of the guardians should have been sent up and the consent of the Commission obtained, and that the qualification of the medical officers is also not reported, and to request that the forms may be filled up [and returned]. Paper Number: 1500/A/1844. Poor Law Union Number 57. Counties: Cornwall.
