- Folio 17. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Messrs W and E Willoby [William Willoby and Edward Willoby], Clerks to the Guardians of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt of their letter of 25 January stating that the regulations in Articles 16, 17 and 18 of the General Medical Order have not been observed in the union. The Commission states that these regulations are binding on all boards of guardians of unions in which the General Medical Order is in force, and so request that the Guardians will implement the regulations as soon as practicable. When a list of permanent paupers has been prepared the total number on the list should be reported to the Commission. Paper number: 1043/A/1845. Poor Law Union Number 325. Counties: Town and County of Berwick-upon-Tweed and Northumberland.
