- Folio 429. Draft letter to J R Tomlin [James Robinson Tomlin], Clerk to the Guardians of the Reeth Poor Law Union, from the Poor Law Board, acknowledging receipt of the vaccination form of 12 October. From reports of the Registrar General, it appears that deaths from smallpox are increasing. The Board recognises that there is a great deal of prejudice against vaccinations by the 'poorer classes', but asks the guardians to persuade people of the importance of vaccination. 38602/1852. Poor Law Union Number 555. Counties: Yorkshire North Riding.
