Description

Captain I. Pearce of the Vulture sloop to Rear Admiral Sir Edward Nagle. Prior to his sailing from Spithead, orders were given by the Portsmouth Officers to prepare mooring chains to be laid in St. Aubyns Bay. He had orders to sail before they were received and Admiral Montagu directed him to proceed without them. It will increase the safety of the ship to be moored with proper chains in the winter..
