Thomas Corbett. Several Surgeons have petitioned for an increase in the number of Surgeons on half pay. An analysis of Naval Surgeons, observes that may of them, having been discharged from their ships, never apply for further employment. Those who enter Naval service at an early age have excellent opportunities to gain more experience, which means they have no difficulty in finding employment outside the Service once they leave the Navy. After 8 year's service they are entitled to superannuation so if they are unable to work they receive adequate remuneration. Do not support the proposition
