Report of Judge A Thomson on 1 collective (16 people of Feckenham including the minister, churchwardens and overseers of the poor) on behalf of William Duggins convicted at the Worcester Summer Assizes held in 1809 and convicted of stealing wheat from a barn, property of Thomas Hill farmer of Feckenham and concealing it in his house and absconding in April 1807. There is a certificate of good behaviour from, Jim Davis, gaoler of Wakefield. Grounds for clemency: the length of imprisonment already undergone; the petition was prepared by the minister, parish officers and seconded by the prosecutor, the gaoler has given a favourable account of the prisoner, the prisoner has a wife and children to support and they are a considerable burden on the Parish and he has been orderly and industrious in gaol. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Recommendation: mercy. Folios 286-289.
