Description

Surveys and valuations of the glebe lands and tithes, various dates between 1793 and 1838 (11). Copy deed, copy endorsements and letter relating to piece of land at Marston Magna (belonging to Stoke Parsonage) sold to the Wiltshire, Somerset and Weymouth Rlway Co., 1848 (5). Case, with counsel's opinion, on behalf of Dr. Bain, as lay impropriator, concerning tithes there, copy survey of rectory, 1535 [referred to in above case] and bill of legal charges incurred by John Toller for John Rodbard, 1754-1758 (4). Correspondence from agents (Alexander Law and Thomas Abraham) and solicitor (John Nicholetts), 1814-1838 (7). Agreement for lease, 1821, account of outgoings, 1816, (4pp., stock, seed, implements, labour), valuation of dead stock left on parsonage, 1817, etc. (5). Copy will of Samuel Dampier of Yeovil, gent., 1778 (proved 1779). Orders in Chancery involving fee-farm rent out of Stoke, 1711, and account of disbursements out of purchase money for Stoke estate, 1713 (5). Misc. items, comprising tracing of proposed railway from Ham Hill quarries towards South Petherton, ? 1863, copy citation relating to petition for faculty governing Bandfield vault and monument, 1811, and notes on chemical symbols and a form of shorthand (4).
