Alconbury is an ancient parish. It was in the diocese of Lincoln until 1837, since when it has been in the diocese of Ely.
Alconbury belonged to Huntingdon Poor Law Union 1836-1930, Rural Sanitary District 1872-1894, and Rural District 1894-1974. Since 1974 it has belonged to Huntingdonshire District.
