215 fos. within parchment cover, binding and leaves badly needing repair. Foliated i-xx, 1-196, including end-papers corresponding to contemporary foliation but lacking fos.55 and 178, while fo.99B, which is additional to regular foliation, but is conjugate with fo.93, should follow fo.130 according to text. The ms. ends abruptly on fo.195v incomplete.
The volume commences with separate indexes of names and places, followed on f.1 by inquisitions listed in rough chronological order by regnal year, stating name of tenant, premises held, where and of whom, annual value, date of death and next heir.
The inquisitions were originally stored amongst the palatine records in the castle at Chester, and are now kept at the Public Record Office.
