Delighted to hear by letter of 19 July of Tomlinson's recovery - Stories told him by Mr. Bonell who came with his wife & Mrs. Bulluck: - Pope's deception of Ld.Bolingbroke in printing the History of his Administration. & his miserly opinion of the fortune bequeathed to him by his father. - Also 2 ghost stories. -"I tother day asking whether the heaths hereabouts had over been plowed as there seem to be furrows, was answer'd That its said the Pope curs'd the Lowlands, which occasion'd the plowing the Hills.
