Description

Bound volume entitled "Denbigh Papers Historical Letters".

The early letters of which there are but a few,are for the most part addressed to Basil, Lord Feilding later 2nd Earl of Denbigh; the later ones (apart from the two of 1736 to Isabella Countess of Denbigh) were for the most part sent to Everard de Weede, Baron de Dyckvelt, the noted Dutch diplomat, whose family was related to that of Isabella de Yonge, wife of the 5th Earl of Denbigh.

Many of these letters were in fact unaddressed, but only where the document had not been endorsed by Dyckvelt or his secretary has a query been put against his name, documents marked with an asterisk have been reported in the H.M.C.'s 8th Report, except for No. CR 2017/C8/25 which appears in the 7th Report.
