Established by Robert Bird for six aged web weavers employed in Bird's factory, Crewkerne, 1876.
[A note at the front of the volume states that the deeds of the six cottages were given to Mr Tanner to be put in the parish chest, 1 November 1878, but they were not among the records deposited by Crewkerne parish in 1967, 1976 or 1982. Nor are they mentioned in King's Inventory of 1936.]
