Born Burscough in 1889. Son of William and Annie Aspinall of 2 Mart Lane, Holmkirk, Burscough Bridge. As of May 1919 his siblings were John Aspinall aged 33, Henry Aspinall aged 30, William Aspinall aged 27, Margaret Blackledge aged 37 and Annie Aspinall aged 21. Enlisted Seaforth 13/11/16 in 5 KLR as No 7867. Aged 22 years 3 months at enlistment, address 2 Mark Lane, Burscough Bridge, occupation boatman, height 5' 9", weight 133lbs . Transferred to MGC with No 83565 on 23/1/17. Admitted Military Hospital Grantham 25/4/17 to 22/5/17 with synovitis of the knee. Posted to 5 Battalion MGC 28/4/17. To France (Folkestone - Boulogne) 31/8/17 and joined MGC Base at Camiers the following day. Joined 175 Company MGC 4/9/17. Posted missing with 59 Battalion 21/3/18. (Soldiers Papers - Ancestry)
