Description

Commissioners of Legal Enquiry in the West Indies, 1826, unnumbered volume. Antigua, Montserrat, St Christopher [St Kitts], Nevis and the Virgin Islands, Third Report, 5 October 1826, Commissioner Dwarris. Volume contains:

  • manuscript copy of the reports on the colonies listed above;
  • manuscript abstract of examinations of witnesses;
  • printed copy of Appendix II of the report [pp 145-283] providing a variety of documents collected by the commissioners including rules and orders of the Court of Chancery to be observed through the Leeward Islands, returns of court cases, details of fees, and comments on complaints made by slaves.
