Nature of request
Copy of a writ of Edward I to William Bevercotes ordering him to enquire into the dower of Agnes Burdon. Burdon had complained by petition to the king that her late husband had been granted by the king for his service 100 marks of land in Scotland which was Margaret Ramesey's, a Scot and rebel, and that after her husband's death she had held the same in dower until the heirs of Ramesey recovered the same, and she is now requesting compensation for her dower elsewhere.
