Nature of request
Memorandum of action taken [by an unspecified individual]. He states that at the king's command he searched the rolls and memoranda of the Chancery of Scotland and found nothing concerning the dower of Burdon. He then called a jury together at Berwick on Monday in the morrow of Holy Trinity, and they said that Agnes had been dowered by Alta Ripa of 100 marks of [? land/rent] that was Margaret Rammesey's, and which Burdon's late husband had had of gift of the king in Scotland, and it was assigned in Foulden and Carrington.
