Nature of request
Robert de Enkepenne states that he was travelling to Brabant with his merchandise with other merchants of England, and that, as soon as he had arrived there, Nicholas de Pichforde, John de Pichford his son and Robert de Abyndone, merchants of England, seized him and his merchandise, and imprisoned him, so that he had to pay a large fine for his release and for the return of his merchandise; so that he is greatly impoverished, and does not dare to trade in those parts or elsewhere, as they are still lying in wait for him. He requests a remedy, as it is well-known that they are English, and the king's lieges.
Nature of endorsement
He is to sue against them according to law merchant.
