Description (What the record is about)
-

- Name(s)

- Addressees
- King and council.
- Nature of request
- Thomas de Laugar, Peter Norman and William de Banham, executors of the testament of Peter de Seint Poul of Bayonne, state that after a long suit to the king and council Peter obtained a writ of arrest against the people of the county of Artois, in parliament in the king's eighth year, for £350 and damages, but that he died before he could levy any of this. They ask that they might be able to have a writ in the same form to the Mayor and bailiffs of Southampton, to levy this debt with the damages, for the sake of the soul of the deceased.
- Nature of endorsement
- He is to go to Chancery and, when the process on this has been examined there, if it is found that the aforesaid Peter during his life had a writ of arrest as the petition claims, and if it is shown that the aforesaid Thomas and others named here are the executors of the testament of the aforesaid Peter, and the same Peter during his life did not receive satisfaction on the pretext of that arrest, as the petition claims, then there is to be done for them in the same Chancery what is rightly to be done.Afterwards it was found by inspection of the rolls of Chancery that Peter de Seint Poul during his life had a writ of arrest according to the tenor of the transcript sewn to this bill. Therefore they are to show that they are the executors etc. and to have execution etc.The testament of the said Peter, proved before the office of the Archdeacon of London, was afterwards shown in Chancery, and it was found that Peter Norman and Thomas de Laugar are the executors of the same testament.
