Sir John Jennings to Dartmouth on June 13: he has received Dartmouth's orders to convey the king of Spain to Genoa or elsewhere and to suppress any commotions at Naples on the death of the emperor. He encloses the results of a council of war [below]. He is sailing for Barcelona to learn what the king intends. Dated on board Blenheim cruising off Toulon. Resolution of a council of war held on board Blenheim off Toulon: a second ship should accompany Tartar to Barcelona with the dispatches for the duke of Argyll and the king of Spain. [Jennings] and Pieterson should detach six ships [named] to the coast of Naples. [Jennings] should sail for Barcelona as soon as the convoy has arrived from Toulon.
