Description

St John to Sir Hov[enden] Walker, enclosing a copy of his letter to the lords of the Admiralty and a copy of their instructions to the commodore of the Newfoundland squadron [SP 42/68/28] etc.. Some of the Newfoundland ships will join him. The Humber and Devonshire, both of 80 guns, will proceed with him. Further instructions. The queen is anxious he should make use of the easterly wind, and St John recommends all speed. Dated at Whitehall. No. 30
