Bole requests remedy as he received a horse for the death of a man as a deodand and he should have answered for the value to the king in the eyre, but the late treasurer came and took the horse and promised allowance to the petitioner on his account, but he has had nothing.

He should obtain it for himself by writ against William de la Marche.

The petition is dated to c. 1295 as it is clearly after the dismissal of William March, bishop of Bath and Wells from the office of treasurer. The petitioner was sheriff from Michaelmas 1292 to Michaelmas 1293, and the petitioner clearly a former sheriff by the time of the petition (List of Sheriffs, p. 201).
