Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is dated to c. 1295 as it is clearly after the dismissal of William March, bishop of Bath and Wells from the office of treasurer. The petitioner was sheriff from Michaelmas 1292 to Michaelmas 1293, and the petitioner clearly a former sheriff by the time of the petition (List of Sheriffs, p. 201).
