- Daumary requests remedy as sheriffs of the county used to collect annually rents called 'hidage' and 'wartshelver' from certain vills of the earl of Lancaster in aid of their farm, but the late king enfranchised them so that the sheriff cannot enter them to collect the rent, and the earl's bailiffs collect the rent to the earl's use, and the sheriff cannot have allowance for this from the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer.
