- William de Montynhac states that from the beginning of the war he was in the king's service at La Reole and other places, and that because of the war he left his inheritance and came with his wife and children to La Reole and then to Bordeaux, and his son was captured by the French and he had to pay a heavy ransom for him; and the Earl of Kent, Oliver de Ingham and Robert de Wateville, and the other knights who were in their company know this and how he served. In compensation for his losses, the Earl of Kent gave him lands formerly belonging to Walter de Montz, Bernard de Luganhac, William Cot and Giraud de Pellegrue, to the sum of £200 tournois. He asks that these lands might be taken back into the king's hand, and that he might have the £200 from the bailiwick of Pontonx-sur-l'Adour for term of life: so that if it is worth more, he will pay the king or the constable the surplus, and if less, he will be content.
