Description

Debtor: William Gardener of Englefield in Berks. [Theale Hundred], gentleman, and John Stondon, the younger, citizen and leather-dresser of London.

Creditor: John Beauchamp, citizen and draper of London.

Amount: £32 10s.

Before whom: Ralph Verney, Mayor of the Staple of Westminster.

When taken: 24/11/1473

First term: 24/05/1474

Last term: 24/05/1474

Writ to: Sheriff of Dorset

Sent by: Chancery.

Endorsement: Hugh Luttrell, knight, Sheriff, replies that William Gardener was not found in the bailiwick. He sent the writ to John Williams and Robert Poleyn, Bailiffs of Dorchester, to arrest John Stondon. They replied that they had imprisoned him. The writ arrived too late to execute the rest of it.
