Nature of request
The bishop requests an order to the council to hear his petitions and do right to him. He has petitioned concerning various oppressions and grievances made against the estate and liberty of the church of St Cuthbert of Durham, which petitions he delivered to the parliament at Lincoln, and which were adjourned to be answered at Westminster in the quindene of Easter.

The petition is dated to 1316 as the petition appears to be a petition presented to the Easter parliament held in 1316 at Westminster requesting, as the petition makes clear, that the petitions submitted by the petitioner to the preceding Lincoln parliament be answered as was stated in the adjournment of the petitions to the Westminster parliament.
