Nature of request
Tour and Johannis request that letters are sent tot the bailiffs and customers of Southampton to allow them to depart paying only the ancient custom as they came from the land as the Saracens via Bayonne and were unable to sell their goods and wished to go to Brabant but the bailiffs and customers wished to charge them a new custom of which they should be quit.
Nature of endorsement
The king grants that they should be quit of the payment of the ancient custom this time, and let the bailiffs of Southampton be commanded that they should levy nothing beyond this custom.
