The response of Scrope, Brantingham and the mayors of the town and staple of Calais, written at Calais on 7 November, to the chancellor with respect to Edward III's letter of 26 October in his 40th year [1366] regarding Manfeld's petition, that the current number of porters cannot be improved upon and that no master of porters is necessary.
