Nature of request
The prior requests that a remedy be ordained as the mayor and people of the town have congregated in the churches of the town and sound the bells of those churches though the greater part of the churches are of the patronage of the prior and his convent, it being customary not to sound the bells after curfew and before noon, and despite the king having ordered the mayor and other people to observe the customs in response to an earlier petition by the prior and convent.
