John Draper states that he was robbed in Combe Lane near Coventry of a horse laden with merchandise to the value of £25, and that as he is also heavily indebted to various people he cannot pay his debts or support himself except through the aid of good Christians. He asks that he might have a protection for two years, of the King's alms, so that he can find a way to recover himself and pay his debts.
