Nature of request
Nicholas Russel states that several companions of his, merchants of Florence living at Bruges, bought a ship in Flanders and sent it with wheat from Zealand to Bordeaux, where the wheat was sold by Andrew de Nodde, the merchants' attorney on the ship, who loaded the ship with salt, iron and other merchandise for Bristol. At Bristol Andrew became ill, and in his illness went mad, fell through the window of a house on the bridge, and died. Because of this the King's ministers have seized the ship and its contents.
