Nature of request
John de Bradeston, who has the keeping of Wormelow hundred, states that by sufferance of the sheriffs of Herefordshire Henry de Grey, Lord of Wilton, has accroached royal power to himself in this hundred, to the prejudice of the King and of his franchise of Wormelow. He requests a remedy and the aid of the court, for the King's benefit.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] It is said that no other minister than the keeper ought to enter the franchise to hold any inquisition.Good and loyal people are to be appointed to inquire into the things contained in the petition, in the presence of the parties; and when the inquisition has been returned in Chancery and examined there, the Chancellor is further to do what is to be done.
