Halifax to Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick: a messenger has arrived from France with the signed preliminaries of a peace treaty. The French court has immediately sent instruction to their marshals to cease hostilities, and he encloses a copy [SP 87/47/38]. Ferdinand is to concert with them to the same end despite article 1 of the preliminaries [SP 87/47/39]. He also encloses copies of articles 12 and 13 [SP 87/47/40, 41] regarding the withdrawal of the respective troops. Dated at St James's. ff. 91, 92
