Russian Empire: Crimea (now part of Ukraine). (34) 'Sketch of the Country in front of Balaklava Representing the last few Shots of the Affair of Octr. 25th. Time 12 1/2. Immediately after the return of the remains of our Light Cavalry from the Charge': MS view, showing the nature of the terrain, fortifications, and Russian positions. Reference notes on the battle. Signed by Captain M A Biddulph, Royal Artillery, 23 November 1855. (35) 'Copy of a Sketch of the Country in front of Balaklava Representing the last few Shots of the Affair of Octr. 25th 1854. Time 12 1/2. Immediately after the return of the remains of the Light Cavalry from the charge. Capt. M.A. Biddulph R.A. 23rd Novr 1854'. (36) Lithographed version of (34), lacking the reference notes; produced at the Topographical and Statistical Depot, War Department, 16 June 1856. The 'affair' mentioned in the sheet titles is the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaklava.
